Introducing the captivating “Stress at the Workplace” installation, where we had the honor of contributing to the immersive and tranquil “Relax Corridor.” Thanks to the expertise and dedication of our close partner and system integrator, VISCON, we were able to bring this immersive experience to life using 2 UST projectors for the wall and 2 projectors for the floor, all seamlessly run with one Anystation Micro.

We’re incredibly excited to share that our VIOSO products have been used by the renowned system integrator, Metro Solutions, to create a captivating Wild Atlantic Virtual Experience at WAVE Dingle in Ireland. This state-of-the-art installation transports visitors into the rich underwater world of the Atlantic, offering a captivating experience that is both visually and audibly immersive.

As you step into the first zone, you’re instantly enveloped in an emotional tribute to Dingle’s favorite dolphin, which sadly left us two years ago. To bring this touching moment to life, Metro Solutions deployed rear projection on glass using three Vivitek DU4371Z projectors. The technology behind the operation? Our VIOSO 6 software and EXAPLAY, powered by VIOSO Anystation Nano.

Moving along, you find yourself amid sunken ships and a vivid tapestry of marine life. It’s as if you’ve embarked on an underwater expedition, navigating through shipwrecks and schools of fish. This space is made palpable with a flat wall projection, facilitated by two Vivitek DU6198Z projectors. As with the first area, the mesmerizing visuals and playback are realized through a powerful Anytstation Nano.

Finally, prepare to be awe-struck as you find yourself facing a massive wall featuring marine life in their true-to-life sizes. Gargantuan whales, gliding manta rays, and schools of fish inhabit this larger-than-life underwater panorama. Mirroring the technology in the previous area, two Vivitek DU6198Z projectors are employed, again utilizing our robust VIOSO 6 software with complete automatic recalibration of the projectors.

In a nutshell, it’s not just an exhibit; it’s an immersive escapade into the wonders of the ocean, brought to life by Metro Solutions’ artful installation and our cutting-edge VIOSO products. Dive in, the water’s more than fine—it’s virtually extraordinary.

From stone to story: MP-STUDIO delivers rapid-deployment projection mapping at national scale.

To mark Bulgaria’s National Holiday on March 3rd, MP-STUDIO delivered a large-scale projection mapping installation titled “Memory” at the Defenders of Stara Zagora Memorial Complex.

The 50-metre monument—featuring sculptural elements including the Samara Flag and figures representing the defenders of Stara Zagora—was transformed into a dynamic audiovisual narrative, where content appeared to emerge directly from the structure itself.

From Digital Twin to Projection Surface

To achieve the required level of precision, MP-STUDIO developed a full photogrammetry model of the monument using drone scanning (RealityScan for Unreal Engine). This created a detailed digital twin, which was imported into ProjectionTools.

Feature markers were then applied to key elements such as the soldiers and flag, allowing the system to accurately correlate the digital model with the real-world structure. This ensured precise alignment across complex geometry, where conventional flat-surface workflows would not deliver sufficient accuracy.

From Hours to Minutes: Calibration in 15 Minutes

The installation utilised 3 × 20,000-lumen and 6 x 16,000 lumen projectors from EPSON with a 1920 × 1200 resolution per projectors Using ProjectionTools’ camera-based workflow, MP-STUDIO completed full warping, blending, and geometric alignment in just 15 minutes. This represents a significant reduction compared to traditional manual calibration workflows—particularly important for a single-day live event, where setup time is limited and reliability is critical.

High-Impact Playback, Minimal Footprint

Playback was handled by a single Anystation 4K server, running EXAPLAY with HAP-encoded content. All nine projectors were driven from this compact system using splitters, enabling a fully synchronised, high-resolution canvas without the need for multi-server infrastructure.

This approach reduced system complexity and minimised the hardware footprint onsite, improving reliability for time-critical deployments.

A Monument as a Storytelling Medium For the duration of the event, the monument became an integral part of the narrative itself—its surfaces, forms, and details used to convey themes of identity, sacrifice, and national memory.

The result was a technically precise installation that supported a highly emotional and culturally significant experience. Commenting on the installation, Marin Dimitrov of MP-STUDIO said “Working on a monument of this complexity requires absolute confidence in both the calibration and playback pipeline. The combination of photogrammetry and camera-based calibration allowed us to achieve precise alignment across highly detailed geometry, while the speed of the workflow was critical given the constraints of a one-day event. Running the entire system from a single compact server also simplified deployment significantly, without compromising performance.”

Raul Vandenburg, COO of VIOSO, added, “We’re very pleased to have supported MP-STUDIO on a project of this scale and significance. It demonstrates how combining camera-based calibration with efficient media playback can simplify complex projection-mapping workflows while still delivering the precision required for demanding architectural surfaces. Whimsy – brought to you by #2Spicy, the inventor of “Le Petit Chef” (since 2018) – is an international 360° immersive restaurant installation. For their new show and new locations, 2Spicy invited the VIOSO projection magicians to plan and realize a new concept of entertainment and immersion. The installation was implemented in Washington DC, Berlin and Istanbul.

At each location were used 2 Anystation Media Octo including the #Vertex VIOSO software suite and 14 Optoma & Viewsonic projectors to realize this unusual idea. In autumn 2022, VIOSO was called to Brazil to realize what is the largest fulldome projection in Latin America: The MEGA DOMO – a 60m diameter air-suspended dome that hosts the Christmas show “Viagem De Natal”.

Together with the system integrator Hoffmann from Rio de Janeiro, VIOSO provided a fulldome playback system running 2 hours fulldome show.

WIthin just 1 week, projectors were erected, cabled, placed on their positions (all based on VIOSO’s preliminary planning). Calibration and show programming as well as training of the staff also was completed in this week. Since then, “Viagem de Natal” runs for approx. 6 month several shows per day.

Recursive Digital called on VIOSO to create a fully immersive projection based experience for a high-end fashion store located in Shenzhen. The goal is to create a captivating experience for its customers with real-time interactions between the virtual and physical worlds.

The setup consists of an Unreal Engine live rendering cluster managed by nDisplay. VIOSO Anyblend VR&SIM was used to perform a multi-client calibration of the 6 projectors with 4 cameras covering the entire walls and floor areas of the curved room.

Our universe is unique, mesmerizing and almost unattainable. Everyone dreams of visiting and touching a little the mysterious and enigmatic world of outer space. For the first time in its nearly 60-year history, the Planetarium Bochum has made space not only tangible in the star dome, but also outdoors in the adjoining city park as part of Planetary Nights.

Now, in the era of modern digital technologies, we can approach the unattainable. We are pleased at VIOSO to help implement such projects. We calibrated 3 projectors covering the entire 360° surface of a sphere using VIOSO Anyblend and Pixera VIOSO. The mapping is played every night of the festival showing the different planets and components of our solar system. We were able to create a universe on earth and everyone could feel like an astronaut diving into the depths of heaven for a minute.

Let’s begin our week with beautiful and a very exciting story: “Vincent meets Rembrant”. The Dutch system integrator “Pronorm”, well known for scenic projection mapping carried out all over the world, provides a unique venue in the heart of Amsterdam.

Every year the two famous painters reunite in an immersive show located at Amsterdam’s Noorderkerk 17th century church. Travel back in time and experience 40 minutes of the painter’s history, coming to life thanks to amazing projection mapping technology. The beauty of this historical place matches the perfectly crafted and well aligned content. Numerous VIOSO Anystation Media servers drive 38 projectors and display digital art in several times 8K resolution.

Next year a new journey will be created, so we will return to experience a new season of magic immersion into Netherlands painting history and enjoy the continuation of “Vincent meets Rembrandt”.

The Rhine Tower stands 165m tall, which Pronorm BV (www.pronorm.org) covered with 6 Digital Projection M-Vision 21K projectors operated by a VIOSO Anystation Media Hexa server.
We calibrated the tower with two of our brand new products: ioversals Vertex VIOSO, used as a show control software, the AV Production Suite now includes our fully integrated VIOSO Core.

The Westfront Museum in Belgium has updated their huge curved screen projection of 32m by 4m where an animated movie runs on loop during the opening hours. The museum is about the Great War and how locals found a way to stop the German invasion outside the city gates with an ingenious flooding using the power of the sea and closing the locks.

VIOSO Player is the perfect match to playback this kind of beautiful large videos and ensure a smooth and secure lifetime run with the Anystation Integrate. The update was done by Bekafun, who is a sound, light and AV equipment supplier and integrator with more than 30 years of experience in the field. Nantes Natural History Museum inaugurated his new season with a beautiful update on the Neanderthal videoprojection. With reproduction of wild animals in front of the screen, this installation will send you back to Neanderthal times and seasons to discover a full year of wild life. In order to get this installation done, the Museum asked Domovisual to take care of all the AV details.

Domovisual represent 30 years of integration, AV broadcast and institutional. Specialized in big video installations, mutlichannel audio and show control, they used all their knowledge and creativity to make to integration as accurate as possible to the Neanderthal spirit of the room.

Thanks to the Anystation Nano and the power of VIOSO Player, the 4 projectors got blended perfectly and offer an incredible immersion to the visitors on the 17m base J shape screen.

This dome is housed within a custom made 7m x 7m x 6m hangar within the Lithothek on the GEOMAR eastshore campus. A fiber glass reinforced projection dome of 6m diameter equipped with 5x Barco F50 projectors is suspended from the ceiling. Thus, the height above ground, tilt, and generally speaking the dome orientation can be arbitrarily chosen – a uniqe feature in the simulator and dome world. A Wings VIOSO media server supports playback of 60 Hz stereoscopic content at resolutions up to 4400 x 4400 pixels. Wings AVIO provides complete automation of all aspects of the lab. The system can be controlled from a cell phone.

A dome without a dome projection? Why not! At Dresdner Zwinger you can now visit a dome tent with an immersive 270° cylindrical panorama projection inside. In celebration of the “wedding of the century” that took place in the Zwinger 300 years ago in 1719, the content creators of M Box Berlin designed a colorful animated sequence played back with vvvv that puts visitors right in the center of this magnificent spectacle.

In collaboration with Neumann & Müller Veranstaltungstechnik who chose our product VIOSO Anyblend VR&SIM to create a seamless image, we assisted in calibrating the 29 x 3.5m panorama screen created by seven WUXGA projectors.

Sternevent GmbH commissioned VIOSO to provide a secondary digital video projection system for the reknown Carl Zeiss Planetarium Jena.

After an extensive shootout between most relevant projector providers, VIOSO delivered a fulldome projection system consisting of 6x Barco F70 4K laser phosphor projectors, one VIOSO Domemaster Server utilizing Wings VIOSO RX for content handling and Wings AVIO for a fully automated projector and show control. Shows are running time code sychronized to an existing spatial audio processing system.

To maintain an absolute uniform blend in all colors as well as pitch black – the main challenge in a planetarium dome – optical blends made by GBVi are incorporated and supported by VIOSO’s latest Anyblend projector calibaration technology.

The VIOSO system is used for the majority of video shows, festivals and events, while the existing hybrid optomechanical and digital star simulation system remains to display astronomical content.

This makes the Carl Zeiss Planetarium Jena a very uniqe space, using a total of three independend projection systems at the same time.

COCOLAB Mexico was contracted to provide projection mapping on 3 sites in Oaxaca, Mexico on important archeological buildings. The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, the Plaza de la Danza, and the Santo Domingo Church all received custom created content following the traditional Guelaguetza Festival.

VIOSO provided the system to allow for recalibration of up to 10 of the projectors in a matter of minutes prior to the show. Due to being archeological sites, permanent housings for the projectors and control was not possible. Therefore a specialized truck was deployed that housed all projection and COCOLAB had only a few minutes from dusk to darkness to calibrate the projectors

The Boy Scouts of America National Scouting Museum in Irvine, TX called to Zanim8tion once again for an interactive theater featuring the founder Lord Baden Powell. Guests are welcomed in the self-serviced theater to press a button on the entryway wall. Once activated the guests then sit and watch as the lights dim and spotlight the sophisticated Lord Baden Powell animatronic introduce them to the heritage of the Boy Scouts of America. He is joined with a cartoon character on the large, 55’, 3 projector blended screen, who transports Lord Powell to the video. The 18 minute video takes the guests through the many passages of a modern Boy Scout including adventures across the nation.

Originally commissioned by NASA for the Apollo program, the 223-foot long Saturn 1B rocket located in the open air Rocket Garden was transformed into a giant projection surface comprising an eye-capturing 6,528 by 1,050-pixel image that used 80,000 lumens of projected light. Visuals were accompanied by a dramatic musical score, actual launch audio, and other sound effects, in conjunction with a “Rocket Garden Light Show” that uses moveable lights to illuminate rockets throughout the Rocket Garden, complete the immersive sensory experience. For the first time, the VIOSO calibration process was integrated into the show as projectors needed to be calibrated prior to the first presentation. As the VIOSO calibration commenced, the audience believed that the rocket was being ‘scanned’ prior to launch of the holiday show.

IBM commissioned Zanim8tion for a truly distinct and difficult projection mapping project.IBM’s newest scientific advancement, the Quantum computer was to be displayed in a newly furnished viewing room by Flying Foto and Design Dimension. The IBM Quantum computer is housed in a cryogenic system, similar in size to a 55 gallon drum, suspended from the ceiling in a specially designed vibration isolation system. Digital Projection Laser 8500 lumen projectors projection map the entire “U” shaped room and an additional 2 laser projector illuminate the drum shroud. A special presentation is then projected in the room to illustrate the introduction of quantum computing and it’s importance on the scientific industry.

We are very glad to be part of this amazing project together with loop light, N.O.ME, Velten GmbH and Jazzunique for the great collaboration!

For the course of 6 months, VIOSO delviered 2x VIOSO Anystation Performer and 2x VIOSO DOMEMASTER servers with 12 outputs each to run several shows per week in 6000×6000 @60Hz video quality until when the dome finally was dismantled in October 2018.

MP-STUDIO Powers Bulgaria Pavilion at Expo 2025 with Vioso’s Cutting-Edge AV Solutions

When Expo season arrives, delivering a “wow” factor is essential for any national pavilion—and the Bulgarian pavilion was no exception. For this year’s event, the challenge of crafting a memorable, tech-driven experience was taken on by MP-STUDIO, a Sofia-based experiential company known for its expertise in 3D projection mapping and visual effects. With audiovisual technology at the heart of the installation, MP-STUDIO turned to its trusted partner, Vioso, to supply the systems that would bring the vision to life.

The exhibit was divided into three main sections: “The Past,” “The Present,” and “The Future.”

“The Past” embraced the analog charm of history, showcasing Bulgaria’s rich cultural heritage through traditional display methods.

“The Present” transitioned into the digital realm, powered by EXAPLAY™ running on Vioso’s newly launched Anystation Pico players. These ultra-compact devices each output two WUXGA signals, allowing just seven units to seamlessly drive 14 wall-mounted monitors. A central Pico server handled synchronization via OSC commands, enabling smooth playback across a single expansive canvas or multiple independent video streams.

“The Future” presented the most dynamic and innovative part of the pavilion—a fully immersive space where visitors could interact with their surroundings and contribute “messages for the future.” Spanning an area of 160 sq. m. meters, the environment relied on Vioso’s ProjectionTools™ autocalibration software and four calibration cameras to achieve a flawless blend across 14 projectors. A custom-built Vioso Anystation server, equipped with an Nvidia A6000 GPU, powered EXAPLAY™ to deliver four 4K signals via HDBaseT matrix switchers, ensuring crisp, synchronized visuals.

What truly set the experience apart was its use of AI. Visitors could scan a QR code to submit their messages via a website, which then relayed them to an AI system that generated real-time responses. These were instantly displayed on screen using NDI to feed content directly into the EXAPLAY™ playback engine. At the conclusion of the Expo, all visitor messages could be collected to form a digital archive of collective hopes and ideas for the future.

Reflecting on the installation, Marin Dimitrov, CEO of MP-STUDIO TECH (the AV division of MP-STUDIO), shared: “We’re proud to be among the first to implement such a large-scale setup using Vioso’s new Pico servers and EXAPLAY™ platform.”

He continued, “We pushed the software to its limits and were genuinely impressed by its performance. EXAPLAY™ provided everything we needed—playback, timelines, NDI and OSC control, and synchronization—all without the complexity of larger media servers.”

Raul Vendeburg, Executive Director of Vioso, who was on-site during the installation, shared his enthusiasm: “It’s incredibly exciting to see our new EXAPLAY™ solution play such a central role in the pavilion. We developed it to offer a streamlined, user-friendly interface that covers the majority of needs in installations like this—while still supporting advanced capabilities like HAP-encoded content playback.”

Küp Prodüksiyon goes “beyond calibration” with VIOSO at Sinop Fortress Prison

Known as the Anatolian Alcatraz, Sinop Fortress Prison was built in 1887 and closed in 1997. By 1999, the prison facilities were handed over to the Culture and Tourism Ministry and now stands as a popular tourist attraction.

Wanting to create an immersive experience in the historical fortress and blend modern technology with 18th-century architecture, the operators turned to VIOSO partner Küp Prodüksiyon to bring the old walls to life. Being a historical site, it was immediately clear that projection was the most appropriate technology as it can be mounted discreetly out of sight without damaging any of the historical building.

Küp Prodüksiyon selected 8 x Vivitek projectors, running at 1920 x 1200 resolution, to cover the wall and the floor. Four projectors covered the 15m x 4m wall, and another four covered the 15m x 6m floor area. To ensure pixel-perfect alignment, Kadir Yılmaz, who led the technical integration, deployed two camera calibration kits—one for the wall and one for the floor, and VIOSO6 auto-calibration software, which transformed this old prison into an impressive, seamless canvas.

Beyond the calibration, Küp Prodüksiyon, the Istanbul-based production company, also leveraged the power of VIOSO’s EXAPLAY. Designed with a focus on what customers need in 90% of their AV projects, EXAPLAY, running on a VIOSO Anystation server provided simple, affordable, stable and robust media playback. The full attraction was powered by a single Anystation Micro, demonstrating the power and versatility of this compact media playback server.

Commenting on the installation, Kadir sums up the experience perfectly: “In this building, where every stone contains history, adapting visual technology to the spirit of the place was a very special experience, both technically and emotionally. Thanks to all the team who contributed to this work that carries the past to the present with giant waves!”

Plan Walk picks VIOSO EXAPLAN for their immersive architectural planning facility.

Plan Walk, based in Glendale, CA, runs an immersive architectural-planning studio that offers live 3D walkthroughs of customer design and architecture plans: clients don’t just view a rendered model — they physically “walk through” their future spaces. For their new facility, Plan Walk sought a robust, dependable system to project floor plans at full scale so clients and stakeholders could experience real spatial proportions — but found existing methods (manual blending, temporary setups, VR-based “walkthroughs”) to be sub-optimal: too fiddly, too imprecise, or lacking presence and shared physicality.

They discovered that VIOSO had just launched EXAPLAN, a software explicitly designed to turn flat CAD floor plans and blueprints into immersive, full-scale projection environments.

Realising this solution could deliver exactly what they needed, Plan Walk partnered with VIOSO to build out their new projection-based walkthrough facility – the first EXAPLAN deployment in the US!

By adopting EXAPLAN, Plan Walk gained several crucial advantages, a major one being the simplification of facility deployment. EXAPLAN’s workflow is designed for rapid projection of architectural floor layouts in real time, converting CAD-based drawings into full-scale projection immediately, without complex workaround or improvised setups.

As EXAPLAN is a purpose-built platform rather than “making do” with generic tools, video players, or VR-based workarounds, they now rely on a software platform built specifically for live architectural walkthroughs, with real-time, true-to-scale rendering, projection management, and calibration automation.

As would be expected from VIOSO, it also uses VIOSO6 for pixel-perfect, camera-based alignment and multi-projector calibration. With VIOSO’s calibration expertise at its core, EXAPLAN supports camera-based auto-alignment, warping and edge-blending, and automatic recalibration if needed — ensuring seamless projection across all projectors, consistent pixel alignment, and high-fidelity spatial accuracy.

By selecting EXAPLAN, Plan Walk offers a professional, calibrated, repeatable, high-quality system tailored to architectural walkthroughs.

Project Setup: 2-Projector Blended Facility

For their new walkthrough room, Plan Walk deployed two EPSON 4K projectors in a 13.5 x 14m space, blending and aligning them using VIOSO 6’s auto-calibration capabilities under the EXAPLAN workflow. Using a single CK_W120 calibration camera, the projectors seamlessly combine to project 1:1-scale architectural floor plans inside the physical room — clients can walk through and experience real-world spatial proportions, without VR headsets.

Experience & Outcomes

Clients visiting Plan Walk’s new facility can physically walk through their architectural plans in real scale — gaining immediate, intuitive understanding of spatial relationships, proportions, circulation, and volume — something that typical 2D plans or even VR walkthroughs often fail to deliver.

For architects, designers and decision-makers, the immersive projection avoids misinterpretation common in 2D drawings or static renders; it helps surface potential design issues early, reducing costly late-stage changes.

For Plan Walk, the workflow became much more efficient, repeatable, and client-friendly: loading CAD files, projecting in real-time, and calibrating once, without complex manual blending or time-consuming setup.

As a marketing and sales tool, the facility gives clients a “wow” factor: seeing their future space at full scale, in real space, with no headsets — strengthening confidence, accelerating approvals, and improving communication.

Integration with Plan Walk’s Presentation Style

Plan Walk already uses video walkthroughs and 3D animations for client presentations. With EXAPLAN, they elevate this further — instead of just watching a rendered fly-through, clients step into an immersive, physical-scale projection of their floor plans. The result is far more visceral, spatially accurate, and emotionally convincing than screen-based previews.

Kia E-Ground is the first Kia EV Experience Center in the region, combining technological innovation and environmental management to promote eco-friendly living. It was developed to display the latest advances in electric vehicle technology and best practices in sustainability.

At the heart of the immersive experience in the KIA E-Ground lies its 27-square-metre tunnel, helically inspired by the Fibonacci sequence. This design choice evokes the harmony and growth present in nature, aligning with the message of the sustainability of the center.

Skyluft, a VIOSO integration partner in Ecuador, was commissioned to create a one-of-a-kind immersive experience that embodies this sustainability mission, and conveys the message to its visitors. To cover the entire space, they designed a multi-projector setup that required all the projectors to be perfectly aligned and blended, taking users on a seamless visual journey.

The Fibonacci-inspired design was incredibly complex to projection-map onto, so it was clear from an early stage that they would require camera-based calibration to ensure perfect results.

Commenting on the design, Roberto Mendizaba, CEO of Skyluft, said, “There was no other solution for us than VIOSO; the architectural design is as complex as it is unique, so it was an interesting challenge for us. We knew immediately that VIOSO had the technology to make this warping happen, and we are delighted with the result. The calibration software handled the complexity incredibly well.”

In total, Skyluft installed 9 Christie DWU630-GS projectors with 0.36 UST lenses, all of which were warped and blended using VIOSO6 calibration software. To enable camera-based calibration, they deployed three cameras across the 27 m² expanse, including one 185° fisheye calibration kit and two 89° wide-angle cameras, which provided complete coverage.

Ensuring this was a truly immersive experience, the content was created with Unreal Engine, which allowed real-time visual content with multiple synchronised outputs. LIDAR Sensors were integrated to detect the movement of visitors and generate interactive visual responses, such as frightening fish, reacting jellyfish, or flowers blooming. To complete the interactivity, the application allows users to switch between day and night. Tapping the sun icon triggers a sunrise with flying birds, while tapping the moon icon changes the environment to a darker, nighttime scene where fireflies appear.

The installation is a finalist in the “Best AV Integration Project in Latin America” category at the prestigious CALA Awards.
